Awakening in trauma

Created during a seminar in my bachelor degree. The initial question of the seminar dealt with the role of typography and technical image media in opening up a perceptual space for the optically unconscious, the repressed and the uncanny of social domination. The seminar analyzed the analogy between trauma and media images as well as the traumatic deprivation of images and the images of traumatic deprivation.
My design work on the subject of "trauma" is based on the police report on the incident of domestic violence by Chris Brown against Rihanna in 2009. My aim was to design the soberly described course of events and place it on posters in such a way that the violence that took place there is typographically illustrated to the viewer. To further irritate the viewer, the posters were hung at an angle and partly on the ceiling. This means that the viewer has to bend their head to read the text, which is an allegory of the beatings of the victim.
